The 2017 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships could not have been scripted any better. As expected, Oklahoma (431.95) won their third straight Team title, and a three-team dogfight for 2nd place was decided in the final rotation. NCAA Men's Gymnastics is a fantastic product, but it does have a few shortcomings. Over the years, viewing options have certainly improved and grown in number. Last season, the optimal team-streaming standard was via Ustream, and this year it's Facebook Live. The quality is great and it's user-friendly. The Facebook Live option is mostly good for dual meets, but with some imagination, it can work for a tri-meet or a quad-meet. Senior National Team member Sean Melton and Jake Martin competed together in the AA for the first time this season, and the result was a bunch of much-need points on the board for Ohio State. Bouncing back from last season's injury plague, Martin has been the Buckeyes' work horse all season long, making him the 6th-ranked all-arounder in the country. He nearly hit for his average (83.30) and finished 2nd to his long-time teammate. It has been a few years since we compiled a list of six-footers in NCAA Men's Gymnastics. In seasons past we have consistently seen over a dozen of these tall gymnasts on the rosters in any given year. The most well known have been such All-American stalwarts as Oklahoma's Russ Czeschin (6'3") and Jeremy Adams (6'2"), Illinois' Luke Stannard (6'1") and Stanford's John Martin (6'0").

The Big Ten Network struck television programming gold, scheduling the broadcast of a rare (if not unprecedented) Saturday afternoon College Men's Gymnastics doubleheader. Both meets were highly entertaining, especially the night cap. It was a perfect showcase for NCAA Men's Gymnastics.
